| 2002 has seen the launch of a new networking website 'Web Works for Women' - WW4W - at 'www.ww4w.co.uk' The site has been designed specifically for women within Cheshire & Warrington and it brings together all existing networks such as PROWL, Women into Business and Strongest Link into a single and infinitely more powerful forum. The pilot project, which is in its final stages, is planned to go live in July 2002. The launch event was held in March of this year at Mere Golf & Country Club in Knutsford, attracting some 160 women from across the region. Since then the website has already got over 100 women on board and its membership is growing daily. TGP has played an integral part in getting the venture off the ground and in its ongoing promotion and development. We are currently organising a series of training courses for members. The training, which we have set up, is in direct response to members' needs and will provide women with enhanced IT skills to support their business-to-business activities. The training is free to members and is proving extremely popular with courses heavily subscribed for Microsoft Word, Excel and Access together with SAGE accounts package and Internet, E-mail and Using Chat Rooms training. Project Co-ordinator, Yvonne Sampson, who represents Business Link Cheshire & Warrington, commented on the project, "We feel extremely confident about the future growth and success of WW4W and plan to develop it as a platform for an international model. As well as supporting women generally, we are particularly interested in giving a voice to those who are less advantaged. On a local or indeed a global scale, the website can become a medium for women to communicate their ideas and improve their business opportunities. TGP has worked closely with us in developing the pilot scheme and we look forward to continuing to benefit from its valuable contribution when we go live!" Anyone is welcome to visit the site using TGP's own email address for registration access. |
